Mead is an alcoholic beverage created by fermenting honey with water, sometimes with various fruits, spices, grains, or hops. The alcoholic content ranges from about 3.5% ABV to more than 20%. The defining characteristic of mead is that the majority of the beverage's fermentable sugar is derived from honey. It may be still, carbonated, or naturally sparkling; dry, semi-sweet, or sweet.

Viking Blod

Dansk Mjød’s Viking Blod is prepared on the basis of a recipe dating back to around 1700, and the ingredients are 100% pure and natural – guaranteed without additives of any kind. Honey is the main and most important element in the recipe.
Beware of mortals. Sip this Blod in moderation, for you could fall prey to the people of Jottnar, or merge with Freya’s heart. Drink at least an hour before the battle to enter the state of Bezerkker, like the Úlfhéðnar wolf warriors from Öland.

Taste notes: floral aromas, hibiscus, red berries, honey.

Color: light gold.

Taste: Sweet but balanced, the hibiscus has a bitter taste. Full-bodied.
